Rajesh - Muvattupuzha) , for having Secured A+
for all the subjects, in the Higher Secondary
School Final Examinations

Mrs.Rohini K Menon, daughter of P Kumar
Menon participated in the Thiruvathirakali
performed by 6,582 women at Kizakkambalam on May
1st 2017 which has set a new Guinness world
record.

Mr. Vivek V, husband of Rohini K Menon was
privileged to receive an individual honour of
highest individual score and longest six at
inter cement company T- 20 tournament held at
Alathiyur, Tamil Nadu.

Commander Akhilesh Menon, Indian Navy,
husband of Mrs. Reshmy K Menon was awarded the
best student in academics for Defence Service
Staff College Welligton, Nilgiris, Coonoor -
Tamil Nadu for the course for the year
2016-2017.

Sri. Vivek K Menon, grandson of our beloved

Sajeev B Menon has been awarded by the
University of Pennsylvania, the Honourable
Harold Heriman award for the best thesis for
B.Tec, Final year Project of Electrical
Engineering and Systems Engineering student, on
28th April,21017.

USA in the Top Doctors List, by their Peers for
Endocrinology and featured in 435 Magazine of
January 2017.The award was presented at a
function in Kansas City by South West Clinical

The Monthly Executive committee meeting was
held on 21st December 2014 at Shri Kumar
Menon's residence, Ravipuram, Ernakulam.
Apart from the monthly official
transactions, the President Shri C.
Balakrishnan, handed over a gift hamper to
Shri Kumar Menon (Treasurer) in appreciation
of the stupendous job done by him for filing
the I T returns with Income Tax Dept (for
first time) and also for the submission of
required documents (after consolidation of
old records of last few years) to The
Registrar of Charitable Societies to comply
with the rules of Travancore Cochin Literary
Scientific and Charitable Societies Act.

Dr.
Cheruparambath Varun (son of K.V. Rajendran and
C. Jayalakshmi - Family Unit 14C) has won the
prestigious award ( First Prize ) in All India
level competition for final year DM Cardiology
students by Indian Chapter of American Institute
of Cardiologists in Bombay on 28th September
2014. The prize includes a cash award of Rs.
20,000/- and an invitation to attend a
Conference of Cardiologists in San Diego
(California ) in March 2015. (with all expenses
paid )
Dr. Varun has also won the 2nd prize ( cash
award Rs. 50,000/-) in the “Torrent Young
Scholar - Cardiology 2014”, an All India level
competition held in Ahmedabad for DM Cardiology
final year students.
Dr. Varun is presently doing Final Year - DM
Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical
Science, New Delhi. Cheruparambath Kudumbayogam
congratulate Dr. Varun on his commendable

Obituary
|
We mourn the sad demise of our senior member of
Cheruparambath family,
Shri C. Sreedhara Menon (81) who passed away on 22nd
September 2014.
He had retired as Office Supdt, CDEI, Indian Navy
-Southern Naval Headquarters, Cochin. He had also
served as the Secretary of Ernakulam Karayogam.
Shri Sreedhara Menon was a Member of the Executive
Committee of Cheruparambath Kudumbayogam from its
inception in 2000. During the period from 2008 to
2010 he was its Secretary. Shri Sreedhara Menon was
instrumental in moulding the organization in a
professional manner. With his vast experience as
Secretary of Ernakulam Karayogam, Sreedharamman was
a guiding force in all the activities of our
Kudumbayogam and helped us in streamlining various
procedures for its functioning. Sreedharamman is
remembered with all respect and admiration.
May his soul rest in peace.

MONTHLY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

The Executive committee meeting for the
month of March 2012 was hosted by
Committee member Shri C Venunath and was
held on 18th (Sunday) at his residence ,
Kalika Apartments, Kadavantra
The Executive committee meeting for the
month of February 2012 was held on 19th
(Sunday) which was hosted by Committee
member Shri Pradip at the residence of
his mother- Smt C. Radha P. Nair at
Chilavannore.
The Executive committee meeting for the
month of January 2012 was held on 21st
(Saturday) at Smt PadmaKumari’s
residence, Kadavantra which was
sponsored by Committee Member Shri
Rajasekharan ( Kannan) .

Obituary
|
We mourn the sad demise of our
senior Member Smt Saraswathy Amma ( Ammini) (83) w/o
(late) Shri C. Govindan Kutty Menon, (Thavazhy-6)
who passed away on 31ST December 2011.
May her soul rest in peace.

The house
warming ceremony of the newly
constructed house of Shri Pradip Nair
& Vrinda ( Thavazhy 6) was held on
5th December2011. The new house is in
the same compound of his mother's house
( C. Radha Nair) along the Water Land
Road, Chilavannore, Cochin 20.

MONTHLY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
|
The
Executive committee meeting for the
month of December 2011 was held on 18th
( 3rd Sunday ) at Shri Kumar Menon's
residence, Ravipuram,Ernakulam.
'Kudumbayogam Jeeva Karunya Fund' : It
was reported that the donations received
this year from Members together with an
amount from Kudumbayogam Jeeva Karunya
Fund were disbursed to Cancer Care unit,
Ernakulam and to Jeevan Raksha Society,
Elamkulam. Members are requested to be a
part of this Noble act and for making
generous contribution to this Charity
Fund.
'Education Endowment Fund' : Shri C.
Balakrishnan ( our President) offered Rs
10,000/- towards Kudumbayogam Education
Endowment Fund in memmory of his sister
(late ) C. Malathy Amma. Shri K.V.
Rajendran also offered Rs 5000/- towards
this Fund. In yester years, Kudumbayogam
had helped our own Member's chidren for
their studies. Now, in the absence of
needy children of Kudumbayogam Members,
it has been decided to select eligible
poor students from our neighborhood and
for this a sub committee comprising
Members: Smt Malini Menon, Smt Jaya
Nandakumar and Shri Rajasekharan has
been formed to carry out a preliminary
study and to report.
Another sub committee with members: Shri
C. Venunath, Shri K.V.Rajendran and Shri
N.M. Karthikeyan has been constituted to
device methods for reducing the default
rate of annual subscription, to seek
opinion about introducing Life Term
Subscription, its amount and for
recommending necessary amendments in
Byelaws.
Entrusted Shri C. Ramachandran for
releasing the next volume of 'Kudumbavishesham'
and to attach the Notice of Ponnethu
thalappoli 2012.
Nominated Shri C. Mahesh as an Internal
Auditor for verifying the Kudumbayogam
accounts.
Next Committee is scheduled on 15th
January 2012 at the new house of Shri
Pradip Nair.

Smt C. Malathy Amma (86) who passed away on 11th October 2011.
May her soul rest in peace. .

Rohini K Menon has been selected to receive the PG ACQUIRE SCHOLARSHIP 2011 of Govt of Kerala co ordinated by MG University. The amount is Rs.50000.00 and is to be used for a project on "Age friendly Housing Practices for senior citizens in Cochin".

ANNUAL GENERAL
MEETING -2011
The Annual General Meeting of
Kudumbayogam was held on 24th APRIL 2011 at Rajiv
Gandhi Indoor Stadium A/C Hall. President Shri C.
Balakrishnan presided. Annual Report was presented
by the Secretary,Shri C. Krishnakumar and Statement
of Audited Accounts were presented by the Treasurer
Shri Kumar Menon.

Before commencement of
the official proceedings,all the Members
present observed few minutes silence to
mourn the sad demise of four of our
Members/relatives(listed below) and paid
homage to the departed.
a) Shr P. Bhaskara Menon eledest
brother of Meena Balakrishnan who passed
away on 14th March 2011,
b) Smt K. Bhavani Amma, mother of
Smt K. Jayashree ( w/o Shri C. Srikumar)
who expired on 11th January 2011,
c) Our Kunji krishna Ammavans
daughter Smt RajaLakshmi’s husband Sri
Viswanath who passed away on 1-12-2010
at Vizakhapatnam
d) Shri Premachandran ( Babu)
eldest brother of Shri K.V. Rajaendran
who passed away on 1st Sept 2010
Student Members were congratulated and

meritorious achievements in academics.

Rank in the final year LLB Exam of M.G
University.
b) Rohini K. Menon obtained 8th
Rank from M G University for B Sc.(
Family & Communication Science) and
joined for MSc course
c) Aparna C has passed BA -double
major in Sociology & Pshychology in
First Class and joined for MSW course at
AMITY, Noida
d) Adithya K. has passed plus-2
CBSE Exam with distinction and obtained
admission for Engeering at Amrita Engg,
Coimbatore
e) Suraj Krishna has passed plus
-2 commerce group in first class and has
joined Munnar Catering College for Hotel
Mngmt course.
f) Athira Viswam has obtained
distinction in Bhavans Scholorship Exam
and secured Cash award & Merit
Certificate.

g) Anjali Pradip has won the
Title ‘ Under 10 Badminton Champion’ in
the District Tournament and also stood
first in the Inter School Shuttle
Badminton Competition.
h) Karthika C. has won Ist prize
in Music competition at Bhavans Zonal
School Meet and secured Second Prize in
the All Kerala Bhavans School
Compititions
i) Anirudh got selected in the
‘Under 16 Kerala’ District Cricket Team.

1) Smt Maya Sashi has been
promoted as Chief Manager ( IT) of
Federal Bank
2) Dr. Krishna Kishore received
the 2010 Media Excellence Award
instituted by Federation of Kerala
Associations of North America (FOKANA)
from Mr. Vayalar Ravi, Minister for
Overseas Indian Affairs. He has also
received the Best Journalist awards from
Federation of Malayalee Associations of
North America; New York and Maryland
Malayalee Association and his program
‘US Weekly Round Up’ in Asianet was
adjudged the Best Foreign Program in
Malayalam channels.
3) Smt Vidya K. got promoted as
Director ( HR) at Johnson & Johnson, New
Jersy, USA
During the open
discussion session, Memebers came out
with valuable suggestions for
strengthening and promoting the
activities of Kudumbayogam.
Kum Ambili extended Vote of Thanks at
the close of the official meeting.
Lunch was sponsored by Smt Malini Menon
and after Lunch Entertainment programmes
were held. In the Orchestra our children
and Members participated.
